Thinking of our childhood, why would our mother punish us as well when we have quarrel with our siblings and even though we did nothing wrong at all?
That's simply that, both our siblings and us did have faults when a quarrel occurred. This is why our mother punished everyone who are involved in the quarrel.
Same to you and the friend of yours. Perhaps he/she did something wrong that made you mad at him/her. Perhaps his/her fault was so great that you couldn't endure and tolerate anymore. Perhaps his/her fault was greater than yours; but you should not say that that wasn't your fault at all. Both sides do have faults when a quarrel occured. Both sides bear the same responsibility to apologize to each other. The friend of urs was mad at you because he thought that you did something wrong to him. If you insist that you did nothing wrong at all, I am pretty sure that the friendship between you and the friend of yours will not last long even if you two talk to each other again.
Perhaps the friend of yours is aware of his fault now.
Perhaps the friend of yours is ready to apologize to you now.
Perhaps the friend of yours does want to keep such long friendship to go longer.
But the question is, how?
How and what you and the friend of yours should do if both of you do want to maintain such long friendship?
Such a long friendship will not just end like this. There must be something that the friend of yours has been long enduring, but did not complain until it's finally burst.
Perhaps it's due to your selfishness, perhaps it's due to your culculativeness, perhaps it's due to..
Have a deep thought and think about it. What has you done that made the friend of yours mad at you even you two has been friends for more than 10 years? Perhaps he is already aware of his fault, and ready to take the initiative. How about you?
